Genie Education Hub Bukit Batok has been the small-class tuition centre families in Bukit Batok, Hillview, Bukit Gombak, Bukit Panjang and Choa Chu Kang have stayed with since 2015. Science at Genie covers everything from PSLE Science right through G3 Pure Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Classes are capped at 10. The focus is on the skill that decides marks at every level — writing OEQs that score.
Two children with identical content knowledge can score very differently on the same paper, because one knows the Claim-Evidence-Reasoning (CER) structure and the keyword discipline that comes with it. We teach the structure, drill the keywords, and mark every paper individually so the feedback is specific to your child's habits — not generic.

Claim, Evidence, Reasoning — a repeatable way to organise an open-ended answer: state the answer, use the evidence in the question, then explain the science behind it. Marks are often left on the table because the reasoning is incomplete rather than wrong.
PSLE Science has ~15-20 keyword-bearing topics; G3 Sciences have more. We drill recall, not recognition. Without the right keyword, even correct reasoning loses marks.
Quizzes and timed mock papers are set when the teacher judges they will help. Every one comes back marked, so you see exactly which OEQs are losing marks and why.

It was an amazing experience being taught by Teacher Michelle through O level Chemistry and A Math along with A level H2 Math. She always taught with such patience and was able to explain concepts clearly which helped me improve a lot. It is a small yet cosy centre with an excellent teacher-to-student ratio, which allowed Teacher Michelle to give her students the individual attention they needed to ask questions, clarify doubts, and actively exchange ideas. Over the past one and a half years, her well-structured weekly notes, engaging lessons, and intensive revision classes prior to the O-Level Physics examinations greatly boosted my child’s confidence in handling Pure Physics. Primary Science (P4-P6/PSLE), Lower Secondary Science (G3/G2), G3 Pure Physics, Pure Chemistry, Pure Biology, and Combined Science in both Phy/Chem and Bio/Chem combinations. All running classes at this branch.
Almost always OEQ technique — the answer is structured loosely, or the right idea is explained in imprecise words. We use Claim-Evidence-Reasoning: state the answer, use the evidence in the question, then explain the science behind it. Marks are often left on the table because the reasoning is incomplete, not because the child does not know the content.
Same core structure (claim, evidence, reasoning) but G3 adds longer multi-part questions, more quantitative reasoning in Physics and Chemistry, and stricter keyword definitions in Biology. We have free explainers for both levels on the site.
Both. Most Combined students take Phy/Chem or Bio/Chem combinations — we run both at this branch. Pure Physics, Pure Chemistry, and Pure Biology all run as separate weekly classes.
